Av och till på denna vandring som kallas livet stöter man på böcker som ger en vidare mening. Böcker där man mellan raderna tillåts förundras över tankar man själv inte tidigare tänkt, men som när man hör dem i sin enkelhet verkar självklara. När jag i början av året hade lyckan att läsa I varje trumslag jordens puls så var det just en sådan upplevelse. Plötsligt fick tidigare kända idéer och koncept klarare former. Att få ta del av andras ord kan vara en sann välsignelse. Nu har jag för andra gången detta året fått ta del av en sådan upplevelse. I Conversations with God görs ett ambitiöst men enkelt sätt att förklara de sylvassa frågorna som ofta lyckas dela upp oss i två eller fler läger. Det enda givna verkar vara att man inte kommer överens. Många utdrag är bra, under kommer ett kort utdrag om varför även Hitler kom till himmelen.

Most people laugh when one suggests any kind of system other than the one currently in place, saying that behaviors such as competing and killing and the "victor taking the spoils" are what makes their civilization great!
Most people even think there is no other natural way to be, that it is the nature of humans to behave in this manner, and that to act any other way would kill the inner spirit that drives man to succeed (no one also asks the question, "Succeed at what?")"
